Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management of legal documents and files and use of document management systems - Provide clerical support such as filing, organizing, and maintaining documents - Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism and proper phone etiquette - Prepare initial draft of pleadings, orders, discovery, and other legal documents - Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and preparing files for litigation - Assist attorney in preparing for hearings, trials, and other litigation proceedings - File legal documents with the appropriate courts or agencies -Account for time spent on cases in billing format
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a paralegal is REQUIRED - Proficiency in using document management systems and other legal software - Strong clerical skills with attention to detail - Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills - Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures - Strong administrative skills, including organization and time management -Experience with tracking billable hours and time spent on cases Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
