The
Sales Associ
ate reports to the Sales Team Manager and ensures the uniform execution of the Belk direction within their store.
Sales
o Meeting or exceeding personal sales per hour goals.
o Using suggestive selling techniques with all customers.
o Identifying and reducing shrinkage in area.
Customer Service
o Meeting or exceeding approach rate goals.
o Meeting or exceeding credit application goals.
o Meeting or exceeding units per transaction goals.
o Thanking each customer by name following a purchase.
o Handling each transaction efficiently and accurately.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities: o Maintaining floor and stock areas consistent with store standards.
o New merchandise should be unpacked and displayed in a timely manner and should be stored in a place that does not obstruct customer access to the department.
o Ensuring timely set-up including signage for promotional events.
o Following procedures for all systems including BARS, counts, markdowns, retickets and inventory control.
o Maintaining Belk profession dress standards and appearance.
o Cooperating with fellow associates and management.
o Complying with store policies concerning attendance and tardiness.
o Accepting additional duties or share responsibilities during busy times and/or as requested by Sales Team Manager.
o Assisting with all non-sell duties as assigned by Sales Team Manager.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Education & Experience
o No education requirement.
o Experience in retail preferred.
o Excellent communication skills.
Physical
o Ability to use computer keyboard, standard telephone and other related business equipment.
o Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags
o Ability to push / pull 100-500 pounds when moving stock carts
o Task demands vary in each department because of the different types of merchandise. Stocking requirements can involve reaching above & below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes
Miscellaneous
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings & weekends, due to shift rotation.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
