Operations Manager

 


The Richmond Group USA Manufacturing Search Division is seeking an experienced manufacturing Operations Manager to join our client, an expanding industrial manufacturer, at their North Carolina plant. This is a very exciting search because our client has been growing every year, creating greater opportunities and positive challenges across their operations.



The right candidate will be an experienced manufacturing professional with production or operations leadership experience and solid technical background. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will drive positive change, using lean or other proven continuous improvement methods. This is a 24/7 operation employing about 90 people, including other managers, engineers, and operators.


 


Responsibilities of the Operations Manager



  • Provide positive direction and motivation to front line supervisors to drive value and a team-oriented work culture throughout the operation

  • Start up, commissioning, and implementing standard procedure and lean culture for a new operation

  • Hire, train, and coach new employees

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement programs and other best practices to improve production yield, material usage, product quality, and reduce costs

  • Coordinate site projects, outages, and production activities with other department managers


 


Desired Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering)

  • 8-10+ years Manufacturing industry experience

  • Approximately 5 years or more of supervisory experience (operations manager, production manager, plant manager)

  • Plant Start up experience highly preferred

  • Strong Lean / Continuous Improvement Skills (Certifications a plus)

  • Strong Technical Background / Natural Problem Solver

  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
