Finance Specialist

Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance Specialist maintains the allowance forgathering data and compiling and reconciling various reports for management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains OREO Schedules and Sales Summary for Legacy and former Loss Share properties.
  • Tracks recoveries for Loss Share Properties and reconciles to general ledger.
  • Prepares sales entries for Legacy and former Loss Share Properties.
  • Prepares Personal Property Tax Returns.
  • Prepares various schedules for Call Report.
  • Prepares various schedules and support for SEC Reporting.
  • Prepares Qualifying Collateral Reports for FHLB.
  • Prepares Annual Summary of Deposits support.
  • Assists Chief Financial Officer and Controller with reports as requested.
  • Review semi-monthly report for Call Code accuracy.
  • Monitor Daily Fraud Report.
  • Quotes fees for former LSA properties as requested.
  • Performs various clerical duties including, but not limited to, excel, word processing, filing, scanning and copying.
  • Completes annual compliance courses.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed.

Knowledge & Experience
: These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.   • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics with three to five years previous accounting experience. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, including those of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and provide reports on a timely basis.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Bank operations, products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct personnel.

Vision, hearing and speech are required. Individuals must have the ability to work with detailed information in a concentrated manner.

The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.

The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to approximately 25 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching

The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), typewriter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers.

Mental Requirements:
Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Individuals must have the ability to work with detailed information in a concentrated manner. The ability to utilize the computer and/or calculator is necessary. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
